Yank Sing

Yank Sing creates traditional and inventive dim sum in a classy and serene atmosphere. This restaurant is suitable for a business lunch or for meeting up with friends for dinner. Guests can simply point to the dumpling or dish they desire from a cart that the food server runs around the restaurant. There are more than 60 choices available every day and one favorite is the Gingery Foil-Wrapped Chicken. Zuni Cafe

When it comes to restaurants, Zuni Café is a San Francisco institution. Its warm and inviting space, unpretentious feel, and delicious food are reasons to come back again and again. Judy Rogers cooks the way mom might if she had access to all the best produce and hours of time. Yoshi's

Chef Shotaro Kamio has brought the best of his experience as an apprentice to top chefs in Tokyo to his own work here stateside with Yoshi's. Finding the perfect balance between using traditional Japanese cooking methods, seasonal ingredients, and authentic spices, Chef Kamio uses three words to describe his cuisine: Seasonal, Simple, and Surprise. Try the Maple Leap Duck Takaki (with summer vegetables, a Saikyo miso vinaigrette, and Welsh vanilla sea salt) or the Tsukiji Sashimi Selection (five varieties of seasonal fish from Japan’s coastal waters) and you might just understand what Chef Kamio’s talking about with Seasonal and Simple. And with a Sake list that reads like a fine wine menu, you’ll feel one step closer to learning the Surprise.

Bocadillos

With this cozy yet lively eatery in the Financial District, Executive Chef and Owner Gerard Hirigoyen brings his native Basque cuisine to the San Francisco restaurant scene. Come during lunch to enjoy a pair of bocadillos (small sandwiches) that come in such mouth-watering varieties as Chorizo with Walnut Spread and Catalan Sausage.
